Omega Speedmaster "Silver Snoopy Award" 50th Anniversary Watch Review
On October 5, 1970, OMEGA received the Silver Snoopy Award from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Fifty years later, in order to commemorate this legendary history, Omega presented the new Speedmaster series "Snoopy Award" 50th anniversary commemorative watch.

Snoopy is very important in the design of this watch. It is presented for the first time in the form of a silver embossed medal on the blue subdial at 9 o'clock. The image of the classic Snoopy wearing a space suit is clearly on the table, which is exactly the same as the silver Snoopy brooch awarded to the winner by NASA.

The silver dial of the watch is engraved with the "Ag925" logo using laser technology, with three-dimensional hour markers treated with blue PVD technology and classic Speedmaster "moon watch" style hands. The design of the back of the watch is full of fun! This time, Snoopy was sitting in the Command Service Module (CSM) portrayed in black and white comics, with "magic" pointers leading him to sail around the moon. When the chronograph second hand started to move, Snoopy, like the astronauts on Apollo 13, embarked on an exploration journey around the mysterious back of the moon. The surface of the moon is made of a unique microstructure and is treated with metal spraying technology to realistically appear on the transparent sapphire glass case back.

The earth as the home of mankind is also presented on the back of the watch, with unique design ingenuity. The earth disc is synchronized with the small second hand of the watch and rotates once every minute, symbolizing precise earth movement. The classic "EYES ON THE STARS" is also engraved in the dark universe on the back of the watch.

The back of the watch uses OMEGA’s unique NAIAD LOCK technology to ensure that all engraved texts are always in the correct position, including the date when OMEGA won the "Snoopy Award" (October 5, 1970), and Apollo 13 No. "Successful Failure" the execution of this task.

The replica Omega Speedmaster watch is equipped with a blue nylon knit strap, which echoes the blue elements of the dial, and even the lining of the strap is decorated with the Apollo 13 mission sailing track. The watch uses a 42 mm stainless steel case, which is inspired by the fourth-generation Speedmaster, the Speedmaster watch worn by astronauts on the moon for the first time in 1969. The watch's tachymeter bezel is made of blue zirconia ceramic, and its scale is made of white enamel, and features the iconic "Dot over Ninety" of the early Speedmaster models.
